WHAT WILL SKINPEN FEEL LIKE?

When preparing for your SkinPen microneedling treatment, it is important to stop any use of Retin-A, or other exfoliating creams. The treatment itself is quite comfortable, but if you are concerned with any pain, a topical anesthetic cream can be applied 20 to 30 minutes before the procedure. The area you are treating determines the amount of time your treatment will take. Most patients should allow for at least one hour.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TREATMENT: THE RECOVERY.

It is crucial to keep your skin hydrated after a SkinPen microneedling treatment. Dr. Afrooz will recommend a treatment plan for you, but a moisturizer with anti-inflammatory ingredients will soothe the treatment area and any redness that may occur. A good SPF sunscreen with a rating of 30 or higher is suggested. Each person’s healing process differs depending on the specific treatment. You can expect to experience slight swelling and some redness for two to four days.
