A well-contoured neck and jawline take years off your looks. If you want to rejuvenate your appearance but aren’t ready for a complete neck lift, minimally invasive neck lifting with submental liposuction may be the solution. Tightening sagging skin with submental liposuction is especially effective for our younger neck patients.
Candidates For Submental Liposuction
The ideal candidates for neck liposuction are individuals who:
- Have excess fat in the neck area that does not respond to diet and exercise
- Have good skin elasticity, as the skin needs to contract after the fat is removed
- Are in good overall health with no medical conditions that could increase the risks of surgery
If you have submental fat, but your skin is smooth and resilient, and snaps back into place after being stretched, then submental liposuction may give you a stronger, more attractive jawline and profile.
However, neck liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, and it's not recommended for individuals who are significantly overweight or have excessive amounts of loose skin in the neck area. If the goal is to correct a receding chin, remove saggy neck skin, or correct lax muscle tone, a neck lift is better than neck liposuction.
